A new week, a new spotlight on three wonderful authors in our community!
Christine Esovoloff
Co-author of Dear Love and Lead Author of Fear is a Liar
What were your top successes in 2019?
Completing Dear Love, doing my first two public speaking gigs, and starting Fear is a Liar as a Lead Author!
What was your biggest lesson in 2019?
A tiny bit of belief in yourself can go a long way.
What are your three biggest goals for 2020?
Knock Fear is a Liar out of the park, do more public speaking, and feel settled within my career in sales.

Lisa Evans
Co-author of Mama’s Gotta Work
What were your top successes in 2019?
- Opening Chickadee Family Café.
- Conquering my fear of being in front of the camera.
- Honestly, surviving the year. Sounds dramatic, but seriously I went over a year without a salary and somehow managed to not lose my house and not to starve. There were many days when my only meal was a bowl of mac and cheese at 7pm. We bounced several cheques, we have a dozen house repairs that have been put on hold, but we survived it and my family is still together under our roof. That’s pretty amazing, I think.
What were your top lessons in 2019?
- Stay in my lane. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. Everyone is on their own path and has their own goals and values that may be different than mine. If I stay focused on my own path and keep looking ahead to my destination, I won’t get lost.
- I cannot control what other people think about me. Everyone is filtering what they hear and see through their own lens of life experience. It’s not up to me to tell them what they should think or feel, it’s just my job to stay true to myself and do what feels right to me, not do what I think will make someone else like me.
- I trust myself. Everyone has an opinion about what I “should” do based on their own life experiences, their own needs and wants. If it doesn’t sit right with me, I need to trust in myself and not be afraid to say no. Also, I don’t need to give a reason for the no. If it doesn’t feel right and I can’t explain it, “no” is enough of an answer.
What are your three biggest goals for 2020?
Become a published author of a best-selling book; take control of my health and the health of my family and make our physical and mental wellness a priority; attend one personal or professional development event each quarter.

Briana Gagne –
Co-author of Her Art of Surrender
What were your top successes in 2019?
Became a corporate VP at the age of 30, bought a home, and completed the second season of my podcast, You Are Here.
What were your top lessons in 2019?
- Our greatest currency is our time.
- It's about the journey and the process, not the destination.
- Everyday, you can choose; You can choose how you want to show up, how you want to feel, whether to be kind or happy.
What are your 3 biggest goals for 2020?
- Be present.
- Finish writing my novel.
- Spend money on experiences rather than things.
